Hendersonville Sports Club has one of the finest tennis facilities in the Western Carolinas. We have 6 beautiful clay courts with two lighted for night play.  

HSC boasts many adult & senior groups that play on a daily basis as well as the following weekly events.  “Tuesday Night Doubles” for 3.5+ men and women players,  Saturday morning “Mixed Doubles Mixer”, and our “Wine Tasting Mixers on Friday Nights” plus numerous USTA teams keeps HSC busy with great tennis throughout the year.  Each new HSC member is encouraged to take a complimentary stroke evaluation with Head Tennis Pro, John Hunter.  He then proactively places you in groups with players of your level.

HSC WELCOMES JOHN HUNTER, HEAD TENNIS PROFESSIONAL

HSC is excited to welcome John Hunter to the team at the club.  John has over 20 years teaching experience with many accomplishments.  His recent 2008 USTA ladies 2.5 team form Florida placed 2nd at nationals in Las Vegas and his 2009 USTA ladies 3.0 team placed 2nd in Florida sectionals. One of the toughest sections in the country to compete!

John also has extensive experience training juniors from beginner to nationally ranked.  He coached the Jesseville High School to two state championships in Arkansas, and has helped many juniors achieve full scholarships at Colleges and Universities throughout the country.

John's experience goes will beyond tennis with a double Bachelors Degree in Technical Writing/Psychology from the University of Arkansas, plus a bachelors degree in Nutrition from the University of Central Arkansas.

Also assisted by John Hunter is Bill Seward, HSC’s owner, He has over 25 years of teaching experience working with players from beginner to tournament level. Bill, a New Jersey native, was a top player on Furman University’s Men’s Tennis team, graduating in 1987.
